Pinhole Movie Reviews

An officious and neurotic Welsh teenager falls for a girl much cooler than he, while also dealing with his comically repressed parents. The dialogue is bone dry, the characters are ridiculous, and the director (who plays Moss on The IT Crowd) apes Wes Anderson — but does a good job of it.  Beautifully shot in Wales, or some part of the UK that has the right combination of natural splendor and industrial destruction to pass as Wales.  (But I didn’t realize it was in the 80’s — I just assumed everything was retro for the sake of hip-ness.) Worth checking out.

I always wanted to check this movie out but dreaded actually watching it. I guess I’ll give it a shot sometime soon.
