Pinhole Movie Reviews

Beetlejuice by Thomas

A recently dead couple, too timid to haunt the new tenants, turn to maniacal spook Michael Keaton.  Tim Burton’s expressionist design and gothic imagination are impressive, but they wouldn’t work without an inventive plot, classic Danny Elfman/Harry Belafonte music, and top notch 80s cast.  The struggle of ordinary folks against effete yuppies is the perfect backdrop for comedy, paranormal or otherwise.  Worth watching.

This is one of the rare movies that I re-watched as an adult and was pleasantly surprised to find was even better than I remembered it. Definitely a solid worth watching.
