Errol Morris’ documentary about a capital murder case. The crime is recreated over and over again as we watch candid interviews with everyone involved.  We become familiar with all the strange and recognizable foibles that these people have, meanwhile Morris strings us along with abstract editing and cinematography.  It’s like a true crime procedural — except that the usual suspense and drama are replaced by pathos and morbid curiosity.  This is a startling, unsettling movie.  Worth watching.

That WAS a really good movie. I’m going to have to check out more from this director. But I think I’ll have to check out breaking away before that.

It is my sincere wish that you enjoy Breaking Away because I love the hell out of it. Young Daniel Stern! Anyway, yeah Errol Morris is great too. I definitely recommend his documentary “Fast, Cheap, and Out of Control”
