Arthur Russell was an avant garde cellist who recorded ephemeral dance-y music, only a small portion of which was ever released.  He’s hip enough to get a documentary now — and brilliant enough to deserve one. His ghostly voice and minimalist beats populate the movie, which takes an  impressionist approach to his life.  (Partly that’s out of necessity, since Russell was rarely photographed and never interviewed.)  Worth checking out.
